Doc Collier Moonshine Distillery – Tennessee Whiskey Trail

Doc Collier Moonshine Distillery

Howdy Y’all, welcome to Doc Collier Moonshine Distillery.
Stop by and try Gatlinburg’s finest shine at stoplight #3 on the Parkway in downtown Gatlinburg. We are proud to offer our customers the opportunity to sample any of Doc’s flavors
including our one-of-a-kind Moonshine Brandy!

Along with tasting some of the finest moonshine in Tennessee, you can see some of the equipment that William “Doc” Collier and his family have used for generations to make their moonshine up in the mountains. Doc’s Shine Shop is setup just like an old-fashioned Mercantile Store, like the one his daddy first sold ‘shine’ from.

Simple is Best — like Doc Collier used to say… his recipe for good shine proves he was a man of his word — corn, sugar and good mountain spring water. In fact, we are proud to make our smooth spirits with fresh English Mountain Spring Water through a partnership with our friends down the road. They deliver 300-600 gallons at a time directly for use in our fermentation and blending. When you visit the distillery, be sure to buy a bottle of their water to taste what real, crisp spring water is supposed to be.  English Mountain Spring is located in a quiet, little hollow in the Great Smoky Mountains and became a “discovered” water source in 1883. When making his moonshine, William “Doc” Collier himself used water from English Mountain known then as “the Promised Land” by the locals. We are proud to keep this tradition alive and bring the best product that we can to our loyal supporters.
